Real Colorado Welcomes Brett O’Connor

Brett O'Connor brings a wealth of experience to his coaching career, having mentored players at every level of US soccer. His recent role as a Division 1 assistant and goalkeeper coach at the University of Houston underscores his expertise. Before Houston, Brett showcased his versatility at the University of Denver, guiding the Division 1 men's goalkeepers, and at Regis University, where he coached both women's and men's goalkeepers.

His coaching credentials include significant contributions to the US youth national teams, notably coaching goalkeepers for the U14 and U15 Girls' Youth National Teams. Brett played a pivotal role in their victory at the U15 CONCACAF event in 2018.

Beyond goalkeeping, Brett has a robust background in broader coaching roles. He spent five years as the Director of Coaching for U11-U14 girls at Rapids Youth Soccer Club, handling various responsibilities in the ECNL program and beyond, including coaching goalkeepers in the WPSL.

Brett's coaching journey began at Colorado United Soccer Club, where he dedicated a decade as the director of goalkeeping and of coaching for the U13 and U14 Boys and Girls programs.

Recognized for his outstanding coaching abilities, Brett was named competitive coach of the year for Colorado by CSA. He holds a USSF B Coaching License, a Premier Diploma, and an Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches Association.

Brett comes to Real Colorado with his wife Julie and daughters Katie (13) and Jovie (10).
