Real Colorado Welcomes Aaron King

Aaron King was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. King was a standout player for his youth club and a mainstay in the State, Regional, and National Olympic Development program (ODP). He attended Denver South, and Smoky Hill High School. He led Smoky Hill to a Championship his senior year. Following King’s senior season, he was named Colorado Player of the Year, and also received All-American honors.

After graduating in 2002, King attended North Carolina State University (NC State). He was First Team All-ACC selection (03’-05’). Following his senior season, King was again recognized nationally as an All-American before being drafted by the LA Galaxy of the MLS.

King went on to play 12 years professionally; domestically and abroad. He most recently played for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the USL (15’-17’).

Aaron’s current coaching portfolio encompasses Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach for the University of Colorado Springs (16’-17’), Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach for Metro State University (18’), Youth Academy Director at Colorado Rush (21’), Boys Academy Director at Colorado Rush (22’-23’), Sr Academy Assistant Staff Coach at Real Colorado (24’).

After spending time with the Sr Academy Aaron quickly developed a great connection with the players and staff. “The clubs professionalism, culture, ideology, and values all aligned seamlessly. The coaching standard at the Sr Academy left a strong impression. I was motivated to find a way to support the development of Junior Academy players and empower Junior Academy coaches, ensuring a smooth transition into 11v11 play.” King stated.

King is happily married and has two wonderful daughters ages 6 and 9. They too enjoy sports; soccer, basketball, ballet, swim, art, and going to the mountains. His oldest daughter will be joining the club this Spring.

"I am elated to have the privilege of serving and upholding the esteemed standards here at Real Colorado. Witnessing the club's growth and development firsthand has been truly inspiring. I eagerly anticipate the creation of new memories, the opportunity to learn from our exceptional staff, and the excitement of overcoming the upcoming challenges."
