Lorne Donaldson – Executive Director of Coaching/President
Lorne Donaldson reached the pinnacle of soccer at the age of 17 when he made his first appearance with the Jamaican National team. After coming to America in 1980, he became a three time All American at Metro State College, the first soccer player inducted into the Metro College Hall of Fame, and transitioned into coaching as a player/coach for the Denver Kickers and professional team, the Colorado Foxes. After successful stints with both, including two APSL National Championships with the Colorado Foxes, Lorne began investing his time in youth soccer, specifically with Douglas County Blast, currently Real Colorado, in 1997. Under his vision and leadership, Real Colorado has grown to be regularly considered one of the top 20 clubs in the country and a pioneer in the US Soccer Development Academy and Elite Clubs National League. Off the field, Lorne was co-founder of the Black Soccer Coaches Association of America helping to bring African and Caribbean players and coaches a better understanding of the American football culture. He has been an accomplished instructor with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for over ten years and recently was inducted into the Colorado Youth Soccer Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievement in youth soccer. Lorne continues to work with Real Colorado’s Chief Operating Officer and the Board of Directors in keeping Real Colorado at the top of the youth soccer scene in the United States.
Jared Spires – Chief Operating Officer
Serving as the Chief Administrative Officer for Real Colorado, Jared Spires is a tenured national leader in youth soccer. He began coaching at the age of 19 and became the Director of the Competitive Program for then Douglas County Blast, currently Real Colorado, in the coming years. Having earned his USSF A license, the highest achievement in the US in coaching criteria, at the age of 26, he has been committed to fully investing himself into the youth sport of soccer. After a brief tenure at Vanderbilt University as the women’s assistant soccer coach, he returned to Real Colorado in 2005 to assume the role he currently holds today. As Chief Operating Officer, his duties are accountability for managing the operating budget, implementing policy, and operationally leading Real Colorado in the direction determined by himself, the Executive Director of Coaching/President, and the Board of Directors. Drawing upon his deep experience, he is immersed in the challenges a youth organization faces at the simplest and most difficult levels today and moving into tomorrow. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Colorado Youth Soccer League Operations Committee, and continues to serve on the CYS executive advisory council to the Board of Directors. With his roots beginning in coaching and now into operational control of one of the top clubs in the country, he understands the challenges faced by youth organizations at every level.
Ron vonLembke - Chairman of Board of Directors
Ron graduated Phi Beta Kappa magna cum laude from the University of Denver in 1978 with a B.A. in American history, summa cum laude from National University in 1985 with a masters degree in Human and Organizational Behavior, and Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1988. While at Harvard Law School, he served as the Senior Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy.
He was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1979 where, among other positions, he served as a tank platoon commander, company commander at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, and judge advocate. He is a retired Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
Ron served as Special Counsel to classified programs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense under the Honorable Dick Chaney from 1988 through 1990. In September 1990, he was selected to serve as Assistant Counsel to President George H. W. Bush, White House Counsel Office, and Special Counsel to General Brent Scowcroft, National Security Advisor.
Following his service at the White House, Ron served as counsel for Duncan, Ostrander & Dingess, Denver, Colorado; Ward and Smith, P.A., New Bern, North Carolina; Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the W.T. Humphrey Construction Group; senior partner for vonLembke-Faleris, P.C., and county attorney for Onslow County, North Carolina.
Ron currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Adams County Economic Development Commission. He has served as a Director for the Marine Federal Credit Union, Chairman of the United Way of Onslow County, Vice President of the Onslow Caring Communities Foundation, and the Jacksonville Military Affairs Committee. He is a former Eagle Scout and a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Mr. von Lembke joined United Water and the Bromley Companies as Chief of Staff in January 2010. He is responsible for planning, organizational, and operational matters.
Mr. von Lembke has two sons, Jason and Sean, and one daughter, Danielle who is a goalie on Real’s 01 ECNL team.
Lance J. Baller– Board of Directors
Lance began coaching at the age of 18 and has been involved with Real Colorado since 1997 as a coach and parent prior to be elected to the Real Colorado Board of Directors in 2013. Lance is the co-founder, former CEO and President of Iofina plc. Iofina is a technology leader in the production of iodine and iodine derivatives. Lance lead Iofina through a successful IPO on the AIM market of London Stock Exchange, along with three secondary offerings totalling over $55 million, all at above market pricing from institutional investors. Iofina’s IPO was awarded the “AIM: Float of the year in 2008” by Investor’s Chronicle. Under Lance’s tenure convertible debt of $20 million with a 6.5% coupon was placed for Iofina at above market pricing. Lance was able to turn Iofina from a start up in late 2005 into a profitable company with a market capitalization of around a half a billion dollars while having to create new technology and reinvent Iofina’s business plan. Lance is the former managing partner of Shortline Equity Partners, Inc., a mid-market merger and acquisitions consulting and Investment Company. Lance is also a former vice president of mergers and acquisitions, financing and corporate development at Integrated Biopharma, Inc and prior to this the vice president of the investment banking firms UBS and Morgan Stanley. Lance currently is on the board of trustees of Index Funds and also serves as the chairman of the audit committee and as the audit committee financial expert under Sarbanes-Oxley. Lance returned to Iofina in 2014 and serves as non-executive Chairman. Lance is on the Board of Global Healthcare REIT and serves as Interim CEO.
James Millar - Board of Directors
James Millar has been involved with Real Colorado since 2019. He coaches in the Junior Academy program. Previously, James coached at Chapparral High School in Parker, and Capital Soccer Association in Lincoln, Nebraska. James has worked a business insurance broker for IMA Financial Group in Denver, Colorado since 2018. He also participates in the local chapter of the Alliance of Mergers and Acquisition Advisors. James is a graduate of Ponderosa High School in Parker, and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a degree in business administration. James is an avid outdoorsman, snowboarder, and Colorado sports fan.
Amber Deberry - Board of Directors
Amber has been involved with Real Colorado since 2012. Over the years, she has enjoyed watching her husband coach and son play with Real. Amber believes one of the best ways we can help our community grow and thrive is by investing in the development of our youth.
Amber DeBerry has worked in marketing and communications for over twenty years and joined Douglas County Libraries in May of 2011. At Douglas County Libraries, Ms. DeBerry oversees Community Relations, Marketing, Events and the Douglas County Libraries Foundation. Previously, she worked as Senior Vice President of Revenue Operations for The Wildlife Experience and in the marketing department of the Denver Zoological Foundation.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder. When she isn’t enjoying watching her children play soccer and lacrosse, she loves to take adventures with her husband Casey and two children-Mia (14) and Finn (11) .
Brian Harvey - Board of Directors
Brian has been involved with Real Colorado since 2014 when his oldest daughter began in the recreational program. He now has two girls in the competitive program. His youngest daughter in the Cubbies. An athlete and coach himself, Brian truly believes sport plays an important role in personal development, both physically, mentally, and socially. Growing up on Long Island in New York, Brian enjoyed playing several sports until focusing on lacrosse in high school and college.
For the last thirteen years, Brian has been in various roles in the financial services industry. He has spent two years in institutional sell-side equity research at Wm. Smith & Co, then eight years in investment banking at Falkenberg Capital, and the past three years at 361 Capital. As an investment banker, Brian advised telecommunications executives with respect to M&A activity, asset valuations, and general industry trends. He was directly involved in or provided analytical support for transactions totaling over $3.0 billion. At 361 Capital, he is a senior equity analyst and helps manage several equity portfolios. Brian received a B.A in History/Secondary Education from Salisbury University (MD) and an M.B.A from the University of Colorado Denver. He has also earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Brian has lived in Colorado for 18 years and in Highlands Ranch for the past eight. He and his wife, Kristen, have three daughters – Tyler, Kacey, and Bailey. In addition to family and work, Brian spends his time playing ice hockey, running, skiing, and reading.
Marcus Hass - Board of Directors
Marcus began his involvement in Real Colorado in 2003 as a parent and assistant coach for his son Mason’s recreational soccer team. Marcus and his brother-in-law coached the team until U9 when Mason decided to move out of soccer and into competitive lacrosse and football. His daughter Kendall quickly picked up the soccer baton in 2007 as a Cubbie and is a player on the 03/04 National team. Marcus is a Colorado native and grew up in Smoky Hill area where he played for both Aurora and Cherry Creek soccer associations.
Marcus has been in the software industry since 1992 and is currently a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft where he has worked for the last 15 years. Marcus’ career has taken him all over the U.S. and Canada as well as Europe, working with many of the largest companies in the world. He serves on many Executive Steering committees of current and past customers, and is valued for his technology-agnostic analysis of business and technical needs. Marcus holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Management Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Marcus has been married to his wife Deanna since 1997 and has two children. Mason attends Mountain Vista High School and plays lacrosse year round. Kendall attends Summit View Elementary and plays on the 03/04 National team as well as Gold Crown Basketball and Volleyball. Outside of work, Marcus enjoys volleyball, golf, skiing and the occasional car racing day at the track.
Dr. Robert Moghim - Board of Directors
Dr. Moghim is a board-certified medical specialist and entrepreneur. He is currently the practice leader, founder and CEO of Colorado Pain Care based in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Moghim also founded Onyx M.D. in 2005, a nationwide physician staffing company with national staffing presence in all 50 states earning a ranking of 13th largest in the country. Onyx M.D. became one of the vest run organization in the industry. For example, the company was recognized in the newest edition of Topgrading 3rd Edition book released on August 16th, 2012, as a true Topgrading organization. To augment the service aspect of the company, Dr. Moghim implemented an employee-directed community outreach program called S.C.O.P.E., an acronym for: Service, Community, Outreach, Purpose, and Excellence. The program allows the employees of Onyx M.D. to submit a charity for the company to support. In the 2016, Dr. Moghim was recognized as a top three (3) finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Healthcare. Onyx M.D. sold in 2019 to national powerhouse, Health Carousel, and remains a powerful force in the industry today.
His strong leadership abilities were first recognized in high school and college where he excelled in soccer and achieved U.S. National Youth Soccer Team recognitions, Pro offers from Hamburg HSV in Germany, Parade All-American Honors, full athletic scholarship to Duke University, and NCAA Final Four achievements with the top ranked Division I Duke Blue Devils (Duke University) in the mid-1990s.
After graduating with honors from Duke University, Dr. Moghim attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Shortly after, he did his residency at The University of Colorado Health Science Center and completed the board certification process shortly thereafter.
As an esteemed pain specialist with over ten years of comprehensive clinical practice experience, Dr. Moghim is also the founder of Horizon Anesthesia and Pain Consultants which serviced Northern California for approximately 10 years. Dr. Moghim has performed over 10,000 interventional procedures with no malpractice claims and a clean record with the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB).
Dr. Robert Moghim is an avid reader with interests in U.S. healthcare policy and politics. By sharing his perspective on controversial healthcare policies, Dr. Moghim has acquired a strong following and garnered much attention through his writing. He has expanded his areas of focus to alternative treatment option research in the field of pain medicine. With Colorado ranking as one of the worst prescription drug abuse states in the nation, Dr. Moghim has set out to help alter this epidemic.
In addition, Dr. Moghim was appointed to the Colorado Medical Board by Governor Hickenlooper in August of 2017. He will serve a four (4) year term as one of eight (8) physicians on the 16-panel board. The board is responsible for regulation and oversight of the practice of medicine and the healing arts in the state of Colorado.
Lynda Sailor – Board of Directors
Lynda has been involved with Real Colorado since 2002 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2013. Lynda is a founder of Aspen Academy, a private, not-for-profit Denver independent school serving students Pre K-8 and completed two consecutive terms as Board President. Lynda now serves as President Emeritus and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, Lynda was employed by the Ralston Purina Company serving in such roles as Performance Management Consultant, Region Director of Retail Operations for an 8 state region, as well as Business Development Manager and Account Executive. Lynda graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. She also has her MA in Clinical Psychology. Lynda currently lives in Centennial with her fiancé Eric and their six children – Alex (19), Ryan (18 –Real DA Alum; University of Washington Soccer Team), Hunter (16), Brooks (16), Collin (16), and Camryn (13 – U14 Development Academy).
John Urosevich - Board of Director
John has been involved with Real Colorado since 2008 when his oldest son began playing as a Cubbie. In 2011, he began coaching and in 2015, John was elected to the Board of Directors. Growing up playing soccer, John appreciates the lessons the sport teaches both on and off the field and firmly believes in Real’s mission which includes “We are dedicated to developing character, integrity, and personal growth for the youth player”.
A native of Omaha, NE, John received his bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and his MBA from Regis University in Denver. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) Wealth Advisors, John has built his career on aligning people, processes and systems. John has been in the financial services industry since 1996 and previously held positions at Templeton Portfolio Advisory and Janus Capital Group. He also serves on the CLA Foundation’s fundraising committee. John and his wife Rachel have three children – Jack, Tyce and Greta – who all play Real Colorado soccer. Outside of work and soccer, John enjoys running, traveling, camping and spending time in the mountains.
