Junior Academy Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How are players assigned to the teams?
A: Players are grouped according to ability at Tryouts (early June). We believe grouping like ability players creates an environment to help players develop and learn at similar rates.
Q: Can a player move up or down teams?
A: Yes, however movement is not frequent during the season, we have players that will move in between teams based on need and development. The majority of movements will be done at tryouts.
Q: How many teams are formed?
A: As many teams as we have qualified coaches.
Q: Is there a guarantee on playing time for my kid?
A: While there is no guarantee, we do encourage our coaches to give ample playing time to allow each player to develop. If a player is struggling to get playing time, it is a sign he/she should be moved.
Q: How many players per team?
A: Our ideal number is 12 to help facilitate playing time but may vary team to team.
Q: How many practices are there?
A: 3 days of practice, 1 hour each session. Practice location and time is determined by the coach.
Q: Can my kid play other sports while committed to Real?
A: Yes, we encourage players to be well rounded.
Q: Is there traveling involved?
A: League games may be schedule throughout the state (Colorado Springs to Fort Collins).
U10 top 2 teams may travel out of state for a tournament. The rest of the teams will play in-state tournaments.
Q: Can I join the Junior Academy during a season?
A: Yes, if a spot is open on a team.
Q: How much does the Junior Academy cost?
A: $595.00 per season. Payments can be made in 3 installments.
Q: Do I need to register to tryout?
A: Yes, you must register online.
Q: What are the uniforms for Junior Academy?
A: Uniforms will be our normal recreational jerseys.
